Lamp to Luminaire

The new 6 Watt LEDON LED lamp in the shape of a globe

August 2010

On 1 September 2010, it is time again for the next step of the EU directive regarding the progressive phase-out of incandescent lamps. This time, energy inefficient lamps with 75 watts will be banned from the market. And already next September, the 60 watt standard incandescent lamps will no longer be permitted for sale. Therefore, it is high time to look for suitable alternatives.

The company from Vorarlberg presents a very special light source: The new G80 6W LED lamp in the shape of a globe. The aesthetic design and the wide distribution of light ensure that this lamp is a luminaire that fills entire rooms with its warm and cosy light.

The new, quality-ensured LED lamp is just as efficient as all other LEDON products: A low energy consumption of only 6 watts achieves a light output of 400 lumens. The lamp’s warm-white light with a colour temperature of 2800 Kelvin creates a comfortable atmosphere, available at the flick of a switch. As opposed to traditional light bulbs, the LED globe lamp has a service life of about 25 years, enabling savings of up to 85% due to their high level of energy efficiency.

Experts are all of the same opinion: They are convinced that the still very young discipline of LED technology will be the future for lighting homes. Due to their warm-white colour, they guarantee a comfortable atmosphere exactly like we are used to having with incandescent lamps. At the same time, LED lamps save up to 85 percent of energy costs, are free of toxic mercury unlike CFL energy-saving lamps, and they do not emit UV-radiation. LED lamps are in the position to fully replace classic incandescent lamps, also in terms of luminous intensity.
