Utility company AllgäuStrom helps its customers switch to LED lamps by offering a 30% discount

Premium LED lamps create a cozy atmosphere with their warm white light. AllgäuStrom's "LED Lamp Promotional Offer" initiative, organised in cooperation with Dornbirn based manufacturer LEDON, is giving customers of AllgäuStrom's nine partners a chance to try this new feel-good light in their own homes right now. Customers can get a 30% reduction on the normal retail price of LEDON's lamps from 5 November 2011 to 29 February 2012 by going to the campaign's online shop at www.allgaeustrom.de/led-lampen-sparaktion

The 60 W incandescent bulb became history on 1 September 2011. The final farewell to the incandescent bulb is getting closer and closer, and focus is increasingly shifting onto alternative light sources. The CFL energy-saving lamp was regarded as the incandescent bulb's sole successor for a long time. But not everyone is ready to put up with undesirable side-effects such as lamps that contain mercury, delays in achieving maximum brightness and compromises when it comes to colour rendering. AllgäuStrom has decided to offer its customers innovative LED lamps at a bargain price, thus enabling them to get a taste of the "lighting of the future". In this way they can see the benefits of this new light for themselves. At the same time, this initiative paves the way for introducing energy-efficient, sustainable lighting technology in the Allgäu region.

LEDON LED lamps use roughly 85% less energy than incandescent bulbs and help save money from the first day they are used. Thanks to a service life up to 25 times longer than that of conventional lamps, they have a short payback period and deliver natural light with excellent colour rendering. This makes them the best alternative to incandescent bulbs. The "LED Lamp Promotional Offer" is aimed at all AllgäuStrom's customers. Customers can order up to five LED lamps at a 30% discount for each account/customer number on a one-off basis from the online shop. The LED lamps are delivered free of charge. Customers can pay for their lamps conveniently through their bill.
